Kinky Curly Weave Update!

Posted by CFYH | May 25, 2012 | Miscellaneous

Hey Ladies!
So I’ve had this weave out for over a month now but I never did let you now how it held up – mainly due to the busy life of an undergrad!

But for those interested, I loved it and would definitely do it again. I ended up having it in for 2 months, much longer than I’d expected seeing as it was pretty cheap. To be honest, as it got older it looked better! I also trimmed it along the course of having it in. So I went from about shoulder length to having it just under my ears.

Many of you I know are curious about how I washed my hair, and if I did. Well, I’m not really a fan of washing my hair when it’s away in braids/weave… my scalp gets super itchy. However I did wash, condition, moisturise etc the section of hair I left out just as I would if all of my hair was out.

I used:

*Any shampoo or conditioner within reach
*The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme to deep condition every week (I got a ton of these sample’s from the Gidore Black Hair & Scalp Event)
*BeUNIQUE Hair care‘s – Moisture custard OR Root2Tip’s – Vanilla Sun Twirly Butter (This stuff smells sooo good) to twist my hair each night/every other night so that my hair could blend well with the weave.

My hair with the Root2Tip – Twirly Butter!

Finally, it was very easy to manage, it didn’t really need any product – I’d just spray with a little water/leave-in every morning if it needed it and vwah-la! No wrapping either, just put my bonnet on at night!

I would recommend this style you anyone that wants a weave as a protective style…but most importantly wants something that resembles the hair they actually have!
